The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team opens its new season on Friday night when they travel to Army at 7 PM (air at 6:45 on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM).  After finishing with a conference record of 8-8 last season and 13-17 overall the Bearcats were picked to finish third in America East for the upcoming campaign.

One of the keys to a successful Binghamton season is point guard Kai Moon.  Moon hails from Bolingbook, Illinois and started all 30 games last season.  She was named to the America East Rookie Team and averaged 8.4 points per game while shooting 79 percent from the foul line.

The Bearcats return to all-conference selections in guard Amani Watkins and forward Alyssa James.  Watkins was second in scoring in America East last season averaging 18.8 points per game.  James is the two-time America East Defensive Player of the Year.  She set the conference record for most blocks in a game with 11 and averaged 11 points per game as well.

Following BU's game at Army Friday the Bearcats host Cortland Monday at 7 PM.  That game will also be aired on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM beginning at 6:45.
