It was a big weekend for the Binghamton University softball team as they swept a three-game series against the Maine Black Bears at the Bearcats Sports Complex.  After taking both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday the Bearcats mercy-ruled the Black Bears 10-2 Sunday afternoon.  With the win Binghamton evens its overall record at 21-21 and goes to 11-2 in America East.  Second place Maine is now 16-21 overall and 10-4 in America East.  The Bearcats are in first place with a 1.5 game lead on the Blear Bears.

Kate Richard smacked a three-run home run for BU while Stephanie Bielec went 3-5 and Sara Herskowitz went 3-4 for the Bearcats.  Rozlyn Price went the distance on the mound for the Bearcats to earn the win.

Binghamton travels to Albany for a single game on Tuesday and then travels to Stony Brook on Friday to begin a three-game series.
