The Binghamton Bearcats softball team won two of their five games as as they opened their 2015 season in Statesboro, Ga.at the Ga. Southern Eagle Classic.

BU played a pair of games February 15, won one and lost one to wrap-up the three-day event.

The Bearcats dropped the first game to Boston College by a final of 13-11 in eight innings.  In the second game Binghamton defeated Tennessee Tech 6-2.

Freshman pitcher Sarah Miller threw a complete game to earn the win over Tennessee Tech to give the Bearcats their second victory of the weekend.  Miller had a good weekend in her debut as a Bearcat.  She also ripped a walk-off grand slam home run to power Binghamton to a 9-8 win over Campbell University on February 14. Another freshman had a big day as infielder Kate Richard went 5-7 at the plate and drove in five runs.

The Bearcats are idle until the end of the month when they travel to Arizona State University for another three-day tournament.
