The Binghamton Bearcats softball team topped the Maine Black Bears 5-4 in eight innings May 2 to clinch the third-seed in this week's America East Championship at Stony Brook.  Freshman Stephanie Bielec drove home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning with a single.  The victory enabled the Bearcats to take two out of three games in the weekend series.  Binghamton finished the regular season with a record of 10-6 in America East and 20-18 overall.  Maine ends regular season play at 10-7 in conference action and 20-19 overall.
