The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team jumped out to a 14-4 lead and were ahead for over 35 minutes to earn a 69-57 victory over the Stony Brook Seawolves at the Events Center on Thursday night. The win avenges a Stony Brook victory over the Bearcats on Long Island last month. It also keeps the Bearcats' hopes alive for a spot in the upcoming America East Tournament. The top eight teams will compete in the tourney.  Currently Binghamton checks in at 2-10 while UMass Lowell and Maine have three wins each.  The Bearcats travel to Lowell for what is in essence a playoff game on Sunday.

Farad Muhammad scored a career-high 22 points including five three-point buckets to lead BU.  Everson Davis hit for 15 points and Thomas Bruce notched double figures with ten points to help key the win.

The Bearcats have four remaining games with three on the road.  Binghamton is at UMass Lowell on Sunday at 2 PM (air at 1:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Then the Bearcats travel to Vermont on Wednesday night followed by the final home game of the season on Saturday, February 24 against Hartford and the regular season finale on February 27 at Albany.
