The Binghamton Bearcats threw a scare into the Fighting Irish in men's basketball on Tuesday night at Notre Dame.  The Fighting Irish ended up with a 69-56 victory to up their record to 8-3.  Binghamton falls to 3-9.  It is the second ever meeting between the two teams.  Notre Dame also defeated Binghamton in 2014 at the Joyce Center.

The Bearcats led for much of the first half and trailed 25-21 at the end of the first 20 minutes.  The Fighting Irish then outscored the Bearcats 44-35 in the second half to end up winning by 13 points.

Binghamton's Sam Sessoms was superb finishing with a game-high 25 points. Sessoms has finished in double figures in all but one of his 12 games as a freshman.  The Fighting Iirish were paced byJuwan Durham who scored 16 points and snagged 12 rebounds.

Binghamton trimmed the Notre Dame lead to seven points 1:45 left in the game on a Sessom's three-pointer.  But the Bearcats could not come closer as time ran out on a potential comeback.

Binghamton heads to New York on Wednesday and will practice there before meeting LIU Brooklyn in a noon game on Friday.  The Bearcats are then idle until December 30 when they travel to play nationally ranked Michigan.
