The Binghamton Bearcats baseball team clinched the America East Regular Season Championship with a sweep of the Hartford Hawks over the weekend at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Binghamton took a doublehader from the Hawks on Friday with game two providing the 1-0 clincher.  In that one junior Jacob Wloczewski carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before allowing just one hit in the game.

More outstanding pitching paced the Bearcats to a 10-1 victory on Saturday.  The offense piled the runs on but junior Nick Wegmann was the star of the day as he pitched a no-hitter through six innings before giving way to the bullpen on Senior Day.  He ups his record to 4-5.

Offensively on Saturday third baseman Justin Yurchak went 4-4 and drove in four runs.  Union-Endicott grad C.J. Krowiak also had four hits in the game going 4-5.

Binghamton sees its first America East Tournament action in Lowell, Massachusetts on Thursday at 11 AM when they meet the winner of Wednesday's Albany versus Maine contest.  The America East Tournament Champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
