The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team won their third consecutive America East game today (Sunday) as they defeated the Maine Black Bears 65-54 in Bangor, Maine.  Binghamton was up 27-24 at the end of the first half as both teams struggled with turnovers.  BU turned the ball over nine times and the Black Bears had eight turnovers in the first 20 minutes of action.

The Bearcats outscored the Black Bears 38-30 in the second half.  Timmy Rose scored a career high 20 points to lead Binghamton's offense.  In his last outing against Hartford Rose dished out nine assists.

Willie Rodriguez scored seven points in the first half and added eight more in the second half for a total of 15.  With his first bucket of the second half he joined the Binghamton Basketball 1,000 point club for his career.  He is the first Bearcat to reach that mark since Mike Gordon (2004-08) did so.  Marlon Beck is next to join.  The senior co-captain scored four points today and needs 11 more points to reach 1,000.

With the win the Bearcats are 3-5 in America East while Maine drops to 1-7.  Binghamton returns home to host the UMBC Retrievers Wednesday at 7 PM.
