It has been a memorable freshman season already for Bingamton University freshman guard Dan Petcash.  The graduate of Pine-Richland High School in suburban Pittsburgh scored a season high 13 points against Army West Point including a trio of three-point baskets that helped the Bearcats earn an 88-73 victory.  He also had the chance to play against his older brother Andrew who plays for Boston University.

Friday night he will have another memorable opportunity when he and the Bearcats visit the University of Pittsburgh to take on the Pitt Panthers. The Panthers play in the Petersen Events Center.

Petcash starred at nearby Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia in suburban Pittsburgh and was a two-time first team all-section selection. As a sophomore Petcash's team won a state championship and his team won three sectional championships during his high school career. His high school is about 25 miles from the Petersen Events Center.

It won't be the first time Petcash has played at Pitt.  His high school played there on several occasions.  His family also had season tickets to attend Pitt home games.  Friday night Petcash comes home...this time as a Division I participant. Several dozen friends and family members are expected to be in attendance to welcome him home.
