The BC Humane Society in Binghamton was one of the participating shelters and said 27 dogs and 23 cats found new homes.  The local shelter acknowledged volunteers who helped prepare the facility for the influx of adoption applications, the background visits and the actual adoption day on Saturday.

Bissell Pet Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Grand Rapids Michigan. It covers all the adoption fees at participating shelters during the Empty the Shelters events for applicants who meet all the local organizations’ adoption requirements.
