A man who worked as a subcontractor at BAE Systems in Endicott allegedly stole electronic equipment worth more than $50,000 from the company.

Authorities say 25-year-old Michael Callahan of Jay Street, Johnson City, has been charged with second-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Endicott police say Callahan is suspected of taking the equipment from BAE Systems over a period of several months.

Callahan was arrested on April 7. Police announced details of the case today.

Investigators say some of the stolen property was recovered but most of the items were sold to area pawn stores. Police say those businesses then sold the equipment on eBay.

Callahan was arraigned in Endicott village court and released on his own recognizance.

A BAE Systems spokeswoman was not immediately available to comment on the case.
