Part of Airport Road in the Towns of Dickinson and Union will be down to one lane in each direction for the summer as existing concrete is being replaced with a full depth asphalt section.

The construction, which starts Monday, Aprill 11, is being done from near the Stella Ireland Road intersection to the Lewis road intersection.

Crews will be removing the existing concrete road section, upgrading guiderails, drainage and the signal at the Airport Road/East Maine Road/ Lewis Road intersection.

The project is utilizing funding through the New York State Department of Transportation.

Broome County officials say people can keep up with what is going on as the construction progresses through the Airport Road Reconstruction page on Facebook.
