The way is clear for the development of a new community park with the demolition of what has been called the “largest eyesore in Deposit.”

The 125 year old Agway chimney was torn down July 6 for the development of the Deposit Community Park.

A $20,000 grant from Broome County Executive Jason Garnar’s Small Community Fund initiative paid for the razing of the 150-foot tall chimney.

The new park will have several added attractions like new football and field hockey fields, basketball courts and a secondary baseball field.
