The count is on to determine a couple very close political races in Broome County.

The absentee and affidavit ballots from the November 5th election are being counted to determine the final winners in the race for Broome County District Attorney and Endicott Mayor.

When polls closed November 5, Libertarian District Attorney candidate Michael Korchak was ahead of Republican primary winner Paul Battisti by 122 votes.

Only 24 votes separated the leaders in the race for Endicott Mayor with Republican Linda Jackson ahead of Democrat Cheryl Chapman.
