Republican Paul Battisti and Democrat Matthew Ryan are facing each other in this year's election to determine who will succeed Broome County District Attorney Michael Korchak.

Four years ago, Korchak defeated Battisti in a hotly-contested three-way race for the office. Korchak, running on the Libertarian party line, prevailed over Battisti, who had won the Republican nomination in a close primary race.

This year, Battisti defeated Korchak in the June Republican primary. Korchak was unable to run on a third-party line.

Ryan and Battisti were invited to appear together on WNBF Radio to discuss the issues in the campaign for district attorney. Ryan accepted the invitation but Battisti declined.

The candidates were interviewed individually on WNBF in September and again in October. The most recent conversations are posted below.

Korchak contacted WNBF after Battisti's appearance to respond to some comments made during the segment. The conversation with Korchak also is posted below.

Early voting now is underway. Election Day is Tuesday, November 7.
