A Broome County woman wound up in jail after she was charged with DWI when state police say she drove to the Kirkwood station to file a complaint.

Authorities say 34-year-old April Florance of Kirkwood not only is suspected of being intoxicated while driving to the state police station. She also was in possession of marijuana when she arrived.

Investigators say the trooper at the desk detected a "strong odor of alcoholic beverages" on Florance's breath as she spoke.

Florance was charged with felony driving while intoxicated. She also faces a count of unlawful marijuana possession.

Florance was arraigned in Conklin town court and sent to Broome County Jail.
