Village Café Vows Comeback

The owners of a newly opened Café in the Village of Greene say they will come back after fire destroyed the business January 22.

The blaze at the Village Café of Greene on Genesee Street appears to have started in the kitchen area.

Firefighters responded at around 9:30 a.m.

There were no injuries and the investigation into the cause is continuing.

In addition to the restaurant, several tenants living in the building have been displaced and Focus Salon and Wellness Boutique next door sustained smoke damage and is closed this week.

Donations have been coming in to assist the affected businesses and the tenants displaced by the fire.
