Fire officials are investigating a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in the City of Binghamton that sent several residents to the hospital.

According to Broome Fire Wire, Binghamton firefighters were called to the North Shores Towers apartment building at 45 Exchange Street at 7:17 p.m. November 5.

Crews arriving at the scene reported an active fire on the third floor of the 10-story, high rise brick-faced apartment building and requested additional ambulances be sent to the scene.

There have been reports of three people transported to the hospital. The nature and extent of their injuries are unknown.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
