It has been a year since an arson fire ripped through a Floral Avenue, Johnson City apartment building claiming the lives of 4 year old and 3 year old brothers and leaving their mother and a friend seriously hurt.

October 19, family, friends and the community walked from CFJ Park and gathered in front of the boarded-up, burned-out apartment house for a candlelight vigil to remember Joshua and Michael Maxwell and call attention to domestic violence.

Mother, Erica Lynn was staying at the apartment of Jessica Baxter when Baxter’s ex-boyfriend allegedly set the house on fire and the children were unable to get out.

Dwight Burton is awaiting trial for three counts of murder and arson as well as other charges.
