The $3.5 million development of a Broome County Veterans Resource Center at the former Vestal Hills Country Club is expected to be complete in about a year.

Broome County purchased the 80-acre property off Webb Road for $750,000 earlier this year and about $500,000 in New York State funding was secured for the project.

Once complete, the center will house a number of services including those coordinated by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Services Agency, The Southern Tier Veterans Support Group and Clear Path for Veterans.  The center is also to serve as a gathering place for veterans.
