Work Planned for Rt. 12/11 Interchange in Chenango

Traffic on a busy intersection in the Town of Chenango will be impacted by road work through the end of the year.

The New York State Department of Transportation says motorists can expect alternating lane closures at the intersection of U.S. Route 11 and State Route 12 starting Monday, November 2. That’s the intersection in Hinmann’s Corners at the Lowe’s where Route 11 branches off toward Castle Creek.

Crews are making safety enhancements including new sidewalks, pavement and traffic signals.

The lane closures will take place between 7 a-m and 5 p-m daily with occasional periods of night work between 8 p-m and 7 a-m through December 31.

Variable message signs will be in place to alert motorists to lane closures and flaggers will be directing traffic during the work.
