Woman Charged for Leaving Dogs in a Vehicle
A Bainbridge woman is accused of leaving two dogs locked inside a car on a hot day at a Norwich business.
Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say 65 year old Edith Butler is charged with confinement of companion animals in a vehicle in extreme temperatures.
Authorities say the dogs were found in the car October 4 and had been left for over an hour with the vehicle off and no sufficient ventilation.
The dogs were removed from the car and are okay.
Butler has been ordered to appear in Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
