WNBF listeners got on the Eastern Travel bus with us yesterday to make a visit to the Sands Casino in Bethlehem. Pa.  It was our first  WNBF trip to  to the Sands.  Listeners from both Pa. and New York came aboard for the two and on-half hour journey.

Some of our listeners had been there before but for many including me it was a first visit.  We chose The Sands for several reasons including the opportunity for listeners to shop in the two-level outlet mall attached to the casino.

The casino also offers a variety of dining choices.  Another big reason to visit was its unique design.  The Sands is owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and was one of five stand-alone casinos that was awarded a slots license by the Pa. Gaming Control Board in 2006.  It was expanded  for table games in 2010. It is built on the site of the defunct Bethlehem Steel plant and features some of the plant's structure in its design.

My family and I ate at the Carnegie Deli patterned after the New York City landmark.  Many of our listeners stopped in there as well.  The meals were great and mega-sized to power us through the afternoon.

We had a ball.  We had listeners join us from all walks of life including a minister and a professor with a doctorate in psychology.  Be sure and check our wnbf.com website throughout the summer for plenty of additional trip and event information.
