Originally two destinations were a part of the deal - Orlando and Fort Meyers. Unfortunately, the Fort Meyers route was scrapped due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian in September of 2022.

The Avelo direct route to Orlando began in November 2022 with flights between Orlando and Binghamton occurring on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Avelo has grown to over 40 destinations in the United States and Puerto Rico, with many smaller markets similar to Binghamton.

According to a Greater Binghamton Today Facebook post on January 31, 2024, there are plans for Avelo Airlines to take a seasonal break for flights out of the Greater Binghamton Airport to Orlando, Florida.

Currently, on the Avelo website, flights are scheduled normally on April 3rd and 6th, but the rest of the monthly schedule only shows flights on Saturday, April 20th and 27th.

There are no options currently offered on the website beyond April 27, 2024, out of Binghamton. Nationwide flights are being booked through June 11, 2024.

We reached out to Avelo Airlines for clarification. Courtney Goff, Communications Manager at Avelo Airlines responded that service between BGM and Orlando will continue as normal through April 6.

Flights will occur on Saturday, April 20, and Saturday, April 27, 2024. After those flights, Avelo Binghamton to Orlando flights plan to be on a seasonal break.

Goff noted that Avelo is working with the Greater Binghamton Airport on timing and schedule to bring back the route for mid-summer. Avelo Airlines' current schedule nationwide is booking through June 11, 2024, across the entire network.
