Whitney Point Barn Fire Detours Route 26 Traffic

Investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning barn fire on Route 26 near Whitney Point that kept fire crews busy for hours.

Broome County Emergency Services officials say the blaze at 4007 Route 26 across from Swan Hill was reported at 5:17 a.m. July 30.

Some fire crews were still on the scene over two-and-a-half hours later.

Traffic was being detoured off Route 26 onto Swan Hill during a portion of the morning.

There were no initial reports of injuries.
