Wegmans Expands Purchase Limits to Address High Demand
All Wegmans stores, including the Johnson City location, are limiting the sale of more items to address limited supplies and increased demand due to coronavirus concerns.
The Rochester-based chain initially announced purchase limits on a few items like water, hand sanitizer and toilet paper.
Wegmans now has limits on dairy, meat and grocery items. Limits also are in place on many health and wellness products that have been in high demand in recent days.
The Johnson City store and many other Wegmans locations usually are open 24 hours a day. The company's New York state store hours have been changed to 6 a.m. to midnight. Pennsylvania stores now are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Cleaning operations and restocking will be done while stores are closed overnight.
