Walton Woman Accused of Driving Drunk With Child in Car

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say a Walton woman is facing felony charges after she was allegedly found driving drunk with a child in the vehicle.

Officers stopped 38 year old Cheryl Butler shortly before 10:30 p-m Saturday in the Town of Delhi and determined she was intoxicated.  Butler had a nine year old boy in the vehicle.

She is charged with felony driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated driving with a blood alcohol content greater than point-one-eight percent and having a child under the age of 17 in the vehicle as well as misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and traffic infractions.

Deputies say Butler has been ordered to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.
