Binghamton police say a tip resulted in the arrest of a woman suspected of stealing wallets from supermarket shoppers.

Detectives say 49-year-old Elizabeth Dellapenta of Vestal faces three felony counts following an investigation into a pair of thefts on May 9.

One incident occurred at the Weis Market on Pennsylvania Avenue on the South Side. The other happened at the Price Chopper Supermarket on Glenwood Avenue on the West Side.

Investigators released surveillance images on Monday. Police received a tip from someone who said the woman shown was Dellapenta.

Police say Dellapenta has been charged with two counts of larceny and one count of forgery.

Attempts to use credit cards stolen in the incidents reportedly were made at a liquor store and at a convenience store.
