Time is running out for a recreational complex that's been a landmark in Vestal for several decades.

Skate Estate Family Fun Center on Vestal Road is expected to end operations permanently in the coming months.

Marchuska Development acquired the site for $880,000 in July 2024. The facility featured indoor roller skating, along with a water slide and miniature golf course outdoors.

The 34-foot-high "Water Wiz" slide and the "Putt Estate" golf course were removed several weeks after the sale was finalized.

Justin Marchuska told WNBF News property is under contract to the Williams Auto Group, He said for now, it's "business as usual" at Skate Estate.

Marchuska said all gift certificates will be honored and parties that have been booked at Skate Estate will be held. He said no closing date has been set at this time.

Marchuska referred questions about the future of the site to Dalton Williams, the vice president of Williams Auto Group, which is based in Sayre. Williams did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

Two town of Vestal public hearings that had been scheduled for Tuesday on the Williams Auto Group plans for the property were postponed. They have been rescheduled for February 11 at 6 p.m.

One of the hearings will be on an application for a special use permit for a vehicle service station at the site. The other hearing will be held for an aquifer zoning special permit.

The Williams Auto Group acquired the Jack Sherman Toyota dealership on Court Street in Binghamton in February 2022.
