Vestal Man Wanted in Tompkins County Stabbing Found Dead
A Vestal man wanted for stabbing a Vestal woman in her neck and hand at a campground in Tompkins County has been found dead according to a report in the Ithaca Voice.
The report says a news release from the Tompkins County Sheriff announced 55-year-old Chris Hall was found dead in his vehicle April 20 due to a self-inflicted injury.
He had been sought in connection with the wounding of a 43-year-old woman at the Pine Creek Campground at around 12:30 a.m. April 19.
Initial reports indicated Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the campground in Enfield with a report of a stabbing early Monday and found the woman with serious wounds. She was airlifted to a regional trauma center and at last report had been listed in serious condition.
Hall was said to have fled the scene before Deputies got to the campground and was later found dead in his vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
