Construction work on the build-out for a new furniture retailer on the Vestal Parkway is moving ahead of schedule.

Bob's Discount Furniture is preparing to open a store in the Parkway Plaza site that had been occupied by a JOANN Fabric and Craft store for only two years.

Workers from StoreCrafters of Rochester have been busy for the past several weeks gutting the for JOANN store and remodeling the interior for Bob's Discount Furniture.

The Connecticut-based chain initially planned to open the Vestal store this fall. But a StoreCrafters supervisor said prep work was accomplished more quickly than originally expected. He said his company should wrap up its build-out at the site by the end of this week, clearing the way for the new tenant to set up shelves and bring in merchandise.
