Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say at around 11 p.m. December 27, Deputies and the Walton Fire Department were called to a tractor trailer crash on Route 10 in the Town of Hamden.

Authorities say 41-year-old Shaun Koch was driving the milk tanker north when he ran off the right side of the road and the truck rolled onto its side, spilling some of the milk.

Koch suffered a minor head injury and was treated and released from Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Spill Response Team was notified since milk can be toxic to aquatic systems.

Koch is charged with driving a commercial vehicle while intoxicated, moving from a lane unsafely and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $2,000 bail.
