The Town of Union Supervisor delays votes on legislation looking to remove her from office.

The Town Board met February 15 to discuss allegations that Rose Sotak harassed employees in what one council member said was a widespread problem.

The Republican Supervisor voted to hold over resolutions to retain an independent lawyer to look into how to remove her from office, accepting a filing of summary of a prior investigation into the Supervisor and reporting the investigation summary to insurance.

Sotak denies wrongdoing.

Several taxpayers expressed concern over the situation and some board members said Sotak was delaying action by a few weeks.

Sotak called actions on the matter unauthorized and inappropriate but would not comment publicly on the investigation.

The Board wasn’t without critics as well with some at the meeting saying they believed trustees knew about the issue for some time without taking action.
