Two people were arrested following a downtown traffic stop initiated by Binghamton police community response team officers.

Police detected an odor of marijuana after the vehicle was stopped Wednesday near Chenango and Lewis streets.

A passenger, 18-year-old Savion Harris of Binghamton, was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Officers discovered a loaded 9mm handgun under the driver's seat of the vehicle. They also found marijuana and narcotic pills.

Harris was charged on a bench warrant for harassment. He also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful marijuana possession.

The driver, 20-year-old Kamren Holley of Binghamton, was charged with being an unlicensed operator. He also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful marijuana possession.
