Twin Tiers Residents Ready For A Warm-Up
It's been more than six weeks since the official arrival of spring.
This week's forecast from the National Weather Service suggests winter may finally be over.
Sunny skies are expected across the Binghamton area Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
The forecast calls for Thursday to be mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 60s.
Temperatures could rise into the upper 70s on Friday with showers likely and a thunderstorm possible.
The only sign of any ice in downtown Binghamton Monday was outside the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. A large pile of ice could be seen on the south side of the building where it had been dumped by the Zamboni resurfacing machines.
The ice that's been in place inside the Arena since last September is expected to be removed Tuesday. The Binghamton hockey season ended Friday night when the Senators were defeated by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL Eastern Conference quarter playoffs.
