Officials say the unnamed Trooper, a 23-year veteran of the force is expected to make a full recovery after his vehicle was sideswiped by the passing rig reportedly driven by 35-year-old Darvi Moreland of Orange Park, Florida.

Authorities say the tractor trailer did not stop after hitting the squad car from behind, shearing off most of the driver's side panels.

Moreland was pulled over at Exit 64 in Owego and is charged with drunk driving and ticketed for several vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was sent to the Tioga County Jail.

The Trooper was transported to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
