Triathlons To Be Held at Dorchester Park

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]The tenth annual Broome County Parks Triathlon event is to be held later this month.

The triathlon is scheduled for June 27 at Dorchester Park in Whitney Point. It is to get underway at 9:30 a.m.

County officials say the event is open to individuals and three-person teams. Registration for the race will continue through June 17.

The triathlon consists of a half-mile swim, an 11.5-mile bike race and a 3.1-mile run.

The event is open to athletes of all skill levels. A youth triathlon is to be held after the after the main event. The triathlon for those between seven and thirteen years old will start at 12:15 p.m.
