One of the top showdowns in Section 4 football this season takes place today at Blue Devils Stadium when the Tioga Tigers visit Chenango Forks at 1:30 (1:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The opening game of the season for both teams pits a pair of defending state champions against each other.

Tioga is New York State's defending Class D champion.  Chenango Forks is the defending Class C champion.  Both rely on ball control running attacks and stingy defenses.  Typically, their games are low scoring with extra points often the only difference on the scoreboard.

Tioga lost standout Jesse Manuel to graduation.  He scored 125 touchdowns in his high school career and rushed for over 8,000 yards. L.J. Watson returns to key the Blue Devils attack.

Tim Smith joins Roger Neel again for high school football coverage on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Fans can also follow the action online at wnbf.com and via Radio Pup, a free app for smart phone use.
