Tim Tebow Assigned to Syracuse for Upcoming Season
Tim Tebow is headed back to Triple-A Syracuse for the 2020 season. Tebow was among the first New York Mets' cuts announced today (Friday). Tebow, who spent the 2018 season playing in Binghamton with the Rumble Ponies, heads back to New York's Syracuse affiliate for a second season.
In Spring Training in St. Lucie Tebow went 2-13 for a .154 batting average. He had one home run in 10 games with the parent Mets before he was reassigned today.
Last season at the Triple-A level the former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner hit .163 in 77 games. He hit four home runs and had ten doubles before getting a cut on his hand that ended his season. Tebow broke a bone in his hand while playing in Binghamton the season before and that shortened his stay at the Double-A level.
