Three Years After Fire, Vestal Church to Open New Building
Members of a Vestal church are looking forward to holding worship services in a newly-constructed facility soon.
In May 2015, fire tore through the building that for decades had been home to Grace Lutheran Church at 709 Main Street.
Since the blaze, Sunday worship services have been held at Memorial Park Baptist Church in Vestal.
The damaged structure was demolished and the work on the new Grace Lutheran Church complex is nearing completion. Peter A. Rotella Corporation of Endwell was chosen for the construction project.
Rev. Dr. Andrew Watkins, the pastor, said the church plans to hold an open house at the new facility on June 12 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Church members will be on hand for the event to answer questions for people who would like to tour the building.
