
Texting and Driving Gets Two in Trouble
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says Officers found the driver of a vehicle on Route 17 west in the area of 81 South was texting and swerving off the road while driving with a suspended license.
Dennis Wilson of Port Crane is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving, moving from a lane unsafely and texting and driving.
Meanwhile, his passenger was found to have several packets of heroin and a hypodermic needle and was on probation for drug possession and manufacturing meth.
The passenger, 35 year old Jeremy Percival of Johnson City was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. He was also found to be in violation of probation and was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail on a felony warrant.
