Teens Arrested After Trying to Evade Trooper on Route 17

State police say two people face charges after a car was clocked at 107 mph after a trooper tried to stop the vehicle on Route 17.

The vehicle left the highway at Exit 77 in the town of Windsor where it finally came to a stop after it was met by another trooper at the end of the off-ramp. Police say the incident happened Friday.

Authorities say the driver was an 18-year-old man from Queens. He was found to be in possession of a smoking device that contained suspected THC oil. He also possessed a fraudulent Connecticut driver's license.

The driver was charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A 17-year-old boy from Queens who was a passenger allegedly tried to dispose of a smoking device that contained suspected THC oil. He was charged with felony tampering with physical evidence and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The three other people who were in the vehicle were not charged.
