SUNY Prepares to Vaccinate Students Against COVID-19

College students in New York State are getting ready to roll up their sleeves to get the COVID-19 vaccination as the State University of New York says it has plans to vaccinate students.

The announcement comes as New York has expanded the eligible age for those to get the shot to anyone over the age of 16.

Some schools outside the SUNY system, like Cornell University, say they will require any student, except those with legitimate medical or religious reasons, to be vaccinated in order to attend classes next semester.

SUNY says it will be targeting residential students for the first round of vaccinations and reports it has secured 18, 600 single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccines to be distributed across 34 campuses before the end of the spring semester.
