SUNY Broome Coach to Open Vestal Sports Complex
An Endwell man who loves soccer is looking forward to opening a sports complex in western Broome County this fall.
SUNY Broome soccer coach Chris Riley says construction crews started working on the Vestal site two weeks ago.
A metal building with more than 53,000 square feet of space is to be erected just east of Chuckster's Family Fun Park on the Vestal Parkway.
The facility will have multi-use athletic fields, batting cages and a fitness center. The fields would be used for soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball.
Plans call for the sports complex to open in November. Riley said it will be called the 434 Sportsplex. The facility is expected to create about ten jobs.
Riley said he has operated a youth soccer academy in the Southern Tier for the past seven years.
