Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say a Hancock man is in intensive care after crashing on Bussey Hollow Road in the Town of Andes on August 5.

Authorities say it’s believed 60 year old Douglas Petoske was speeding when he lost control of his pickup truck on a curve and it overturned.

He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with a severe head injury.  The passenger, 23 year old Blaine Bolster of Hancock suffered a minor injury but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Officials credit seat belt use by both men for preventing more serious injury.

So far, no tickets have been issued.
