Adam Flint of Southern Tier Solar Works is the guest on the June 9th edition of the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up  talking about a number of developments and opportunities involving solar power that have been coming up recently.

Flint says there has been great response to workshops answering questions from residents and businesses about the costs of installing solar technology at individual properties as well as the growing popularity of the option of signing onto a group solar farm.

Still, proponents of alternative energy are still facing obstacles according to Flint.  He tells Close Up that the VDER Moratorium Bill recently passed by the New York State Assembly Energy Committee complicates the issue of who has access to solar or other renewable energy.

Meanwhile, Southern Tier Solar Works continues its 2018 Community Shared Solar (CSS) 'Solarize' non-profit program of discounted solar power to people who cannot install it at home.  Events are scheduled through the beginning of August.
