Sheriff's officials say the 15-year-old was arrested November 21 and charged with felony arson and aggravated cruelty to animals.
On the morning of November 10, fire crews were called to 993 County Road 3 in the Town of Smithville with a report of a garage fire.  The garage sustained extensive damage.
Later that day, fire crews were called again to the property for a barn fire and found the structure involved in flames.  That building was also extensively damaged and all of the over two-dozen of the family's goats inside the barn and other livestock were killed.
On the morning of November 13, firefighters again returned to the property, this time to find flames coming from the main house.  The residents were able to gather their pets and escape the home but one member of the McDonough Fire Department was injured during the course of fighting the three blazes.
The teen was sent to a juvenile facility following arraignment in Chenango County Family Court.
