Showdowns in Section 4 Football

As the high school football regular season hits the halfway mark this weekend there are a number of big games dotting the schedule.  One of those will take place in Elmira when the Union-Endicott Tigers visit the Express.  Elmira is 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Division I play. The Tigers bring a 2-1 record into the game and compete in Division II.  Elmira is one of five "AA" schools competing in football in Section 4.  The Tigers rely heavily on their big running back Josh Greenwood who has ripped off some big runs in the Tigers first three contests.

Another big matchup features two unbeaten squads.  The Vestal Golden Bears travel to Chenango Forks to face another unbeaten team in the Blue Devils.  Vestal is the bigger school competing in Class "A" while the three-time consecutive Class "C" Champions from Chenango Forks moved up to Class "B" this season.  Airtime for the game is 1:20 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
