Sherburne Woman Accused of Stabbing Man in Gas Station Fight
New York State Police are investigating a stabbing during an argument inside a gas station convenience store Thursday night, May 12.
25-year-old Jessica Collins of Sherburne is charged with felony assault in connection with the attack that left 56-year-old Daniel Purdy of Sherburne with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the State Police, an Investigator walked into Stewarts on State Route 12 in the Village of Sherburne shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday when he saw a man and woman in a physical fight.
A news release from the State Police says the Investigator attempted to separate the two when the woman stabbed the man. The Investigator restrained the woman while store employees called 911.
Purdy was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment while Collins was sent to the Chenango County Jail.
