Teens Accused of Costing Thousands in Damages and Thefts

Two Sherburne teenagers are accused of stealing a vehicle, spray-painting several vehicles and buildings in the village and causing damage to vehicles in the town.

Chenango County Sheriff's officials say 17 year old Michael Wilson and a 15 year old boy are charged with several counts of grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal mischief.

Authorities say they got a report of a crash on County Road 14 in the Town of Smyrna at around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 8.

When Deputies arrived, they found the occupants of the car had fled and discovered the vehicle had been stolen from a home in the Village of Sherburne.

Authorities say the amount of damage and stolen property between the crashed vehicle and items stolen from other vehicles is put at about $15,000.

The 15 year old was released on a juvenile appearance ticket while Wilson’s case is being handled in the Village of Sherburne Court.
